Create and maintain your own website for (virtually) free!
Learn how to setup and manage your website for virtually free! There are many open source tools available to build your site. I've had many people come to me needing a simple site setup with little or no budget. This is for those people who want to have web presence/blog/photos/etc site for the project.
What to Expect
First of all, you are not a programmer. You don't have interest in learning any type of programming. You want to setup a nice simple site for your organization, hobby, side-business or family. AND you don't want to have to pay a programmer tons of money to build your site.
We will be using WordPress, a state-of-the-art blog and publishing platform, to setup your site. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time. More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it. We will working hands-on setting up your site and learning the admin of your site. You will be creating pages and blog entries.
Prerequisite
You will need a laptop. You don't need to have any technical skills, but you do need to know how to get around on your computer, saving files, opening files, etc.
